We have a holistic set of carefully selected key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor our success in achieving our strategy.

  • ‘Where we compete,’ focusing on relevant consumer segments, the most attractive markets, and the appropriate business model
  • ‘How we win,’ focusing on our corporate priorities of preferred brands, talented people, best-in-class delivery, and responsible business

In particular, we use the following measurements to monitor our performance:

  • Global RevPAR
  • System contribution - the proportion of business delivered to IHG-branded hotels by our dedicated IHG booking channels
  • Employee engagement
  • Responsible business practices

These KPIs are used to measure the progress of our group to deliver Great Hotels Guests Love®.

  • Chief Executive Officer starting June 2017
  • Over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry
  • Previously served as Chief Commercial Officer since May 2013
  • Prior to May 2013, Keith spent 4 years as Chief Executive Officer (AMEA and Greater China)
  • Keith delivered the launch of HUALUXE

Elie Maalouf, Chief Executive Officer, The Americas

  • Americas Chief Executive Officer starting January 2015
  • Over 15 years hospitality industry experience within a predominantly franchise model at HMS Host Corporation where he served as CEO, President, and Board member
  • Recently acted as a senior advisor to global businesses in the travel, hospitality, and real estate sectors at McKinsey & Company
Joel Eisemann

Joel Eisemann, Chief Development Officer

  • Chief Development Officer since October 2011
  • Over 29 years of experience with Marriott International
  • Responsible for all development and conversion activities, as well as attracting and supporting owners and franchisees to continue to grow the company’s brand distribution and preference

We feel we have a responsibility to be a civic partner in each of the communities in which we operate, making a positive impact through involvement in charitable endeavors. We also operate the following programs through our corporate responsibility team:

IHG Green Engage®

  • An online sustainability tool giving IHG-branded hotels the means to measure, manage, and monitor levels of energy, water, and waste

IHG® International Disaster Relief

  • Provides IHG-branded hotels with guidance on when and how to react to disasters, meaning IHG is able to respond quickly and effectively to crises affecting IHG-branded hotels, their employees, and the local community

IHG® Academy

  • A partnership between IHG-branded hotels/offices and organizations in communities, helping local people develop their skills
  • Working with local community partners, we provide people with training in order to get jobs in the hospitality industry
  • This program will provide motivated, engaged people to work in IHG-branded hotels, delivering better service for guests
