Our strategy is to generate high-quality growth by building preferred brands, delivering a superior owner proposition, leveraging scale and generating revenue through the lowest-cost, direct channels. We concentrate on a targeted portfolio that, together with disciplined execution of our strategy and a commitment to doing business responsibly, will drive superior results.

The individual components of IHG’s Strategic Model are at the heart of our success, and continue to align our organization to focus on the most important strategic initiatives and deliver our commitment to True Hospitality. These Strategic Model components are:

Build and leverage scale

  • New organizational design will redeploy resources to leverage our scale better, and to accelerate our growth: a new regional structure, integrated commercial & technology organization, and a new global marketing organization.

Strengthen loyalty program

  • Continue to innovate IHG Rewards Club to further differentiate our offering and to leverage loyalty partnerships.

Enhance revenue delivery

  • Prioritize digital and technological innovation to drive increased direct revenues e.g. Guest Reservation System.

Evolve owner proposition

  • Upweight owner support to accelerate growth; expand our industry-leading franchise offer for Greater China; and evolve the owner proposition and operating model for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to further accelerate growth.

Optimize our preferred portfolio of brands for owners and guests

  • Strengthen portfolio of existing brands; continued innovation to drive accelerated growth.
  • Augment portfolio with new brands to match identified opportunities: grow avid hotels to a scale position; launch an upscale conversion brand in 2018; build out global luxury brand portfolio, development resource and capability.

  • Chief Executive Officer starting June 2017
  • Over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry
  • Previously served as Chief Commercial Officer since May 2013
  • Prior to May 2013, Keith spent 4 years as Chief Executive Officer (AMEA and Greater China)
  • Keith delivered the launch of HUALUXE

 Elie Maalouf           

Elie Maalouf, Chief Executive Officer, The Americas

  • Americas Chief Executive Officer starting January 2015
  • Over 15 years hospitality industry experience within a predominantly franchise model at HMS Host Corporation where he served as CEO, President, and Board member
  • Recently acted as a senior advisor to global businesses in the travel, hospitality, and real estate sectors at McKinsey & Company
Joel Eisemann

Joel Eisemann, Chief Development Officer

  • Chief Development Officer since October 2011
  • Over 29 years of experience with Marriott International
  • Responsible for all development and conversion activities, as well as attracting and supporting owners and franchisees to continue to grow the company’s brand distribution and preference
Colleen Keating

Colleen Keating, Chief Operating Officer

  • Joins IHG as the Chief Operating Officer in April 2018
  • Over 25 years of operational leadership experience
  • Recently served as executive vice president of operations for Davidson Hotels & Resorts, one of the largest privately held management companies in the lodging industry
  • Previously spent 17 years at Starwood, leading its franchise operations for North America. She also led Starwood’s managed region in North America

  • Our group-wide online sustainability program allows hotels to track, measure and report on their carbon footprint and utility consumption, and provides more than 200 ‘Green Solutions’, empowering hotels to deliver greater sustainability.

IHG® International Disaster Relief

  • We empower our hotels to prepare for disasters and to support colleagues impacted by disasters with financial support, and vital supplies.

IHG® Academy

  • A global collaboration between IHG hotels and local education providers and/or community organizations that gives local people a chance to learn the skills they need to find work and the opportunity to get a job in one of the world’s leading hotel companies.

IHG® Foundation

  • Building on the positive impact of IHG’s responsible business programs, the IHG Foundation was established in 2016 to demonstrate the power of hospitality to transform lives for the better.
